Prove your Age
What happens
if I get caught using Fake ID to buy alcohol? What ID do shops
accept to prove my age?
It's
pretty embarrassing to be turned away from a club, refused the
sale of alcohol or a lottery ticket simply because you've failed
to prove your age. If you fail to produce ID that proves your
age when required a shop or bar has the right to
refuse you entry, not serve you alcoholic
drinks or ask you to leave the premises.
If you're asked to show ID don't react with a bad attitude ?
anyone selling you an age-restricted product when you are
underage can be prosecuted.
Staffordshire County Council advocates a
?No ID, No sale? policy as young people
can easily disguise their age with make-up and clothe which may
make it difficult to determine whether someone is 18. For that
reason Trading Standards urge business to operate a policy of
not serving anyone who appears below the age of 21 unless they
have acceptable ID UK Photo Driving
License,
Passport or identification
carrying the
PASS hologram such as
Citizencard, or the Validate card. Copies of the Citizencard application form are
available from us.
It is
illegal
to create a
forged identity document in order to claim
you're older than you are with the intention to deceive others
into, for example, selling you alcohol or cigarettes. It is also
illegal to use someone else's ID
and pass it up as your own. Some
companies sell ID on the internet. They usually state that the
cards hold no official status and that using these cards to lie
about your age or identity is illegal. Forging ID is illegal.
Many companies advertising fake ID on the internet only make
cards that are similar to real ones. So what they're doing isn?t
illegal, it's just you who takes the responsibility of the
legality of how you use the ID cards.
So remember:
- When you
are old enough to buy a product, use Citizencard, Connexions
card, Driving License or Passport to prove your age.
- Dont use
Fake ID ? it isnt worth it
